I went to GRACELAND, i.e. the home of Elvis Presley himself! It was a complete trip, with mirrors on the ceiling, 70's decor everywhere and crazy amounts of awards and memorabilia. He even had his OWN planes! Crazy stuff over there.

We also wandered over to the famous Beale Street for some dinner and drinks, but not before we tried to go to the National Civil Rights museum, only to realise it had already closed for days. Woops, but it was still goosebump-inducing to see the spot where Martin Luther King was shot all those years ago.

Beale Street itself was so much fun, and next time I go I will be sure to actually go out as unfortunately we had to be back early that night. Over dinner though we listened to a great live band and the cutest old couple danced away SO in love. One day I'll find a man to dance away the night with, unaware of onlookers...

Now this semester is finally over, as considering I started in August it has just lasted forever!! So I shall hopefully be able to update the blog a fair bit more with some stuff I've been saving for posts before I got to Miami on Saturday to meet my parents.

hello my lovelies!

I thought I'd tell you lovelies a few little deets about my life.

1. I pierced my nose!! I just love it, and now it's all healed up it is just the best!

2.I dyed my hair! This picture isn't the best to show the real colour of it, so I'll take some good ones today

3. I have an obsession with Sephora! I swear I get almost weekly packages from there! I am currently working on a best of american beauty products post

4. I can't stop eating oreos, it's becoming an almost unhealthy obsession in trying to eat every different kind of oreo

5. I miss England, just a little bit. I love Mississippi, but sometimes I find myself missing the English high streets, the pubs and my silly friends

Well as we all know from the ridiculous amount of American films that we all watch, that they certainly do Halloween big over here. As such what to dress as was a giant conundrum, one which I unfortunately failed to solve and instead settled on being a, ahem, rather skimpily dressed, CSI Investigator. For such a festive weekend, what else could we do but go to a frat party?!

Yes, I know it would appear that I spend my life in frat houses, but I promise you that this is not the case. In fact it had been a while, so it was nice to return to a giant house full of free alcohol and loud music.

Now, as a part of my Halloween costume I decided that I finally had the excuse to have handcuffs as part of my costume! Every girls dream, ya know! This obviously, though, had the inevitable problem of me drunkenly handcuffing myself to poor unsuspecting victims! Woops, but luckily having a British accent allows me to get away with a lot more than usual.

The decorations, however, were just simply crazy all over town, with every shop and house being decorated with pumpkins, giant moving spiders, cobwebs and candy corn being sold in every shop imaginable!

Somehow a whole month has gone by without me posting anything. For this I may only apologise and thus provide a quick post of the past month.

Firstly I must mention the Mississippi State Fair in Jackson, where many many rides were taken, plenty of calorific food eaten and the bizarre seen. But perhaps what was most amusing was the pig racing competetion...yes, you did indeed read that correctly. There was a pig racing competition which had a suprisingly large audience, though perhaps not as large as the cattle show had. The cattle show being what I could only surmise as being almost a beauty show for the local cattle.

The highlight of this day though was the chance to eat a deep-fried oreo! Now if anyone of you ever have the chance, you must indeed seize it. Whilst it was far too sweet even more food monster ways, it was certainly an experience!

Oh & of course, I went to a wedding! My lovely friend Casey was kind enough to nab us British girls some invites to his friends wedding, which was certainly amusing enough as it was not quite what you would call a normal wedding. We had a fabulous time there (we even found some outdoor exercise equipment to play on), followed by some naughty shopping and a night out celebrating gay pride weekend in Memphis!

Otherwise my weeks have been filled with studying for my midterms and other exams, whilst the weekends have been filled with pure silliness and fun with these fabulous girls.

Well so much has happened since I last blogged, so I'm going to give y'all a little sneak peek at the madness. At the moment I have midterms and quizzes, so I've been a little snowed under with work (ahem, and partying...naturally)

I've been doing lots of shopping so check back soon for a few posts about that! I just loooove American stores like Sephora, Ulta, Victoria's Secret....I could go on forever.

As a British girl in the US, I get very excited every time I spot a yellow school bus as they are just the epitome of America! They are always in films, tv shows etc...with the cool kids sitting at the back! I know, such a stereotype...but I just don't care as these yellow buses make me so darn giddy!

Unfortunately, with the excess of fast food places and the tasty diner style restaurants around I have been eating out a lot, which has not been very kind on my bank account or my figure. But I just don't care, as I am a food monster and proud of it! (Plus I can't cook, and am way too lazy to to learn!)

And of course, I have been partying a plenty with frat parties, house parties, groving...

Adjusting to life in Mississippi didn't take long at all, but it sure has made me think a lot about what I want to do with my life. Life out here is just so lovely and relaxed, and in comparison to the hustle of London and Leeds I am just overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of people here. Being in Mississippi is making me so happy and excited about the future that I almost constantly feel like I'm living on cloud nine...which is a pretty good felling to carry around.

Now where does one wear a leopard print playsuit, that is ever so slightly sheer on top? Why to the grove to tailgate during the day, of course! Yes that is what my life has come to. I am now wearing clothing that I'd wear to clubs in England to tailgate in Mississippi. Now tailgating at Ole Miss is not like tailgating everywhere else, it is super classy and all the girls dress up in pretty dresses and heels and the boys wear shirts and ties. However, I am no way near that hardcore to wear heels all day, so I stuck with my little gold sandals.

And of course a classic photo of me stuffing my face, being a classic food monster.

Oh & there was totally an old red London bus! So weird to see one in Mississippi!

Last weekend was one of my fellow British girl in Mississippi's 21st Birthday, but as the rest of us are yet to reach that fateful age, we ended up going for dinner at 208 South Lamar (yes the name of the restaurant is the address, weird).

But I actually really loved it as though they didn't have any vegetarian options on the menu, the chef was more than happy to make me my own vegetable medley. Now obviously I couldn't compare with the carnivore options, but my own little herbivore meal was simply divine. I had a cauliflower puree, butter beans, candied carrots, wilted spinach, asparagus, and lemon beurre blanc on the side...truly delicious and suprsingly filling.

But of course, being the professional food monster I am, I could still take on the dessert menu. Now this was a proper southern dessert menu, and naturally my citrus-loving-tooth took over so I had to order a Key Lime Pie. Much to the bemusement of my fellow diners, I ate that bad boy in ten minutes flat and savoured every bite.

For the special occasion I donned my new Forever 21 dress, which I absolutely love (well after a quick OTD skype session with binia to double check it was flattering, because every girl needs a cross-atlantic second opinion)

I have finally found the time to update this blog! I have been having far too much fun at the weekend and been stressing out far too much during the week about work. This will end now, because everytime I look at my nails I can't help but be cheered up. I mean, who wouldn't be cheered up by watermelon nails?!

OLE MISS BY DAMN!

Football season is upon us here, and boy is it crazy! Tailgating all day, then watching american football, i.e. jumping up and down cheering away despite having no idea of the rules...ahh pure bliss.
Tailgating at Ole Miss is beyond amazing, with the classic american film RED CUPS (still so obsessed with these), tasty tasty food (they even had pasta in the shape of an 'M' for Mississippi), everyone dressed up to the nines, and hilarious friends ready to let loose after a week of study.

I had the best time meeting my friends family, actually dressing up for once (I swear I spend my life in denim shorts and tank tops now), and watching my first football match!! And oh my the boys in their fancy clothes...there is nothing hotter than a guy in a shirt and tie.

PARTY PARTY PARTY YEAH.

Partying over here most definitely is different to the English university club scene, and I love it so much more.
The Love Actually British accent thing, totally works too! The amount of times people (guys and girls) say that they could just listen to me talk is ridiculous. But it also means that everyone is super friendly, which in my books is always a plus when you are nervously entering a party where you know only five out of three hundred people.

Every weekend has been such a rush of neon rave, giant trucks, gas stations for post-night out hunger pangs, american dirty dancing, the wabble (please please look this up), beer pong and just general merriment in the form of amazing people.

Oh & for you lovelies who might be curious as to what I mean by giant trucks, I mean this big!! (And I totally drove the black truck! Well I drove it around a car park)

All I do these days is study! But of course I couldn't bare to have chipped or bare nails (shudder at the thought), so spend any spare time I have painting them! This time I tried to do an aztec style print on my nails, but it didn't quite turn out aztec. I love it though, as it is just so cute and pink!

I also, FINALLY, put up my photos so I have a little collage of my photos from home (which I'm so happy to have up for when I'm pulling my hair out over work!)

I swear I will get back to reading all you lovelies blogs, but at the moment I'm struggling to find the time to sleep, let alone do anything else!!!

Now I just love southern food. It is divine, and the portions are so generous out here. I've already found my replacement for my beloved Nando's; Ajax's.
It's so cute in there with all their decor, and such great comfort food with the most delicious mac and cheese! Oh dear, it was so good, but luckily they also have great salad bars!

I started classes this week though! Everyone, and I mean absolutely everyone, out here wears little nike shorts and school tops. Whilst the nike shorts are a step too far for me, I couldnt help myself but buy an Ole Miss top (most probably just to sleep in). It's just so cute though!!

Have any of you lovelies been to the States, or even to Mississippi? If so, what food chains would you recommend?

Hey Y'all....

Seriously though, Mississippi is riduculously amazing, there is just way too much to write down. When things settle down when classes begin I'll give you all the deets. Let me know what you lovelies would want to know, and I can do a wee Q&A post for y'all (cannot stop saying this in a southern accent).

It's been a giant mix of Walmart trips, Ole Miss paraphenalia crazes, southern food testing, beer pong, frat guys, 2am pool parties, and being so welcomed by everyone I meet.

I'll update more when things calm down, as it has been non-stop go go go over here.

OOTD: bye bye blighty

Just twelve hours till my flight now and nervousness is totally settling in. On my last day in good old blighty, I couldn't help myself but quickly pop into my favourite stores, ahem...Primark and M&S. Whilst in M&S I couldn't help but treat myself to lunch at their Food on the Go.

I thought I would take the opportunity of having a photographer (binia) and do another OOTD.

It turned out to be a much warmer day than I had expected so ended up taking off my jacket and scarf, as the sun was shining down (obvs trying to get me to stay in the country).

"Parting is such sweet sorrow" - Juliet (Romeo and Juliet)

Well that girl has got it all wrong. Parting is actually a whole lot of giggle fits, pimms, temporary tattoo madness and smiles. Yes I may have wept a few tears, but never without a smile and a drink in my hand, naturally.

This weekend was my going away shindig, and I already shared with you lovelies my OOTD (though I did then change my top as me + toothpaste = toothpaste stains). But I thought that I'd also share some photos from the actual event. I was so touched that all my friends came just to say bye to me, and even provided me with cake, chocolate (to stash in my suitcase as apparently american chocolate isn't the best?), and going away presents!

I just love love love this lot, and will be as sad as unbuttered toast (an absolute dry mouth nightmare). 'Twas a lovely weekend, and now I leave in less than two days! (34 hours to be precise)

OOTD: the sweetest goodbye

Ooh aren't I treating you lovelies with completely self-indulgent posts!

Ahem, well seeing as I found the perfect picture taking spot I figured I'd exploit it! Today is my going away shindig at my house with all my friends coming to say bye. I am so touched by them all coming, as they most definitely do not all live near me.

For such a special occasion, there is of course games to play! Being officially twenty years old now, I am a serious grown up so my going away games naturally consist of a cupcake decorating competition, a wii tournament and my personal favourite a 'who loves me the most' competition!!!!

I thought I'd share with you lovelies a few snaps of my outfit and makeup before they all arrive. I am in love with this maxi skirt from River Island, it seriously is just falls so well. They just got a navy purpley one as well, which I am so sorely tempted to pick up before I go. Seriously need to get it through my head that I can shop when I'm in the US!!

AHHHHHHHH!!!!

Just four days till I leave, and fly off to Mississippi.

I feel like I have a permanent knot in my tummy, made of excitement, anxiety and pure fear. As such I went to pick up some last minute things with my mum and do a food shop for my going away dinner party with my parents, binia (from kisses grant wishes) and her family. I am so excited, as the six of us have never had dinner altogether, which is odd as it has been a whole eight years we have been tight as thieves besties.

I thought I would treat you guys to an OOTD, as I have finally found the perfect place to take photos, just before I leave for a year. Typical.

I love minnie mouse, however, I am not a super nail art person and thus could never hope to do a fancy minnie mouse design. However, I can dot and make little bows on my nails, so took inspiration from this fabulous tutorial on cute polish's channel to paint these adorable nails!

They are suprisingly super easy to do, and look fabulous! I just love the little tip of my nail being dotty. This is a definite favourite design, and I can't wait to experiment with other colour perhaps.

Last week I ventured all the way up north to Leeds for some well deserved few days of goodbye fun. As such we lounged around watching tv, and drinking cheap wine.
Ahhh the life of a student.

We also went out to eat at Gourmet Burger Kitchen, which was as always de-freaking-licious!!! I thought I'd be more adventourous than my usual Aubergine and Goats Cheese burger so ventured for a Malay burger which was sweet potato, aubergine, red pepper, satay sauce, mayo, salad and relish. I havn't had satay sauce for over 6 years now (since I became a vegetarian), so was absolutely delighted with this burger as satay sauce is good.

Tuesday was the best day out ever!!! (well maybe not quite, but it was pretty fun). We ventured off to Xscape for the day, and went on fairground rides outside, played glow in the dark UV minigolf and then I attempted to tenpin bowl (my lack of physical strength is so apparent when bowling).

Oh & of course it wouldn't be a road trip to Leeds without a stop off at Wagamama's!

I simply loved seeing where my friends are living this year without me. It was fabulous to see them and spend time doing what we do best: absolutely nothing. Sadly everyday since has passed quicker and quicker, and now suddenly I only have seven days left before I leave, and the worry is simply engulfing me. I desperately need to start packing, but have no idea where to start!

Katy Perry - Teenage Dream

I officially turned TWENTY years old yesterday! I am a very excitable person on my birthday, and thus thought the very special day required a special post.

I took influence from Pinkbow's Picure an Hour concept whereby I took a photo every hour of my birthday so I could share snippets of my day with you!!

9am I woke up, feeling ever so slightly worse for wear due to having my birthday drinks the night before...

10am I opened my cards and some of my presents (birthday present haul will be in a later post!)

11amBirthday breakfast of scrambled eggs on toast!

12pm Time to get ready to go out

1pm My Birthday outfit: Urban Outfitters strapless mini dress, River Island leopard print cardigan, Accessorize necklaces

3pm Lunch at Westfields shopping centre. I chose to grab a light lunch from Tiffinietes, a fabulously tasty and generously portioned Indian in the food hall.

4pm My birthday cookie courtesy of my lovely friend Shahreen. It is so divine, and I still have over half the cookie left!

5pmShopping in Westfields with my friends Laura, Shahreen and Binia (from kisses makes wishes), well of course what else would I do on my birthday?! Despite being in Westfields from 2:30pm till 6:30pm we only managed to hit four shops!

6pm Present time!!! My lovely friend Shahreen bought me these gorgeous heels!! They are so high, yet comfortable and they make me a whole head taller than I am without them!

7pmDinner at my favourite vegetarian restaurant, Mildred's with Binia and my parents. Me and binia shared the gyoza dumplings with mirin and soy dipping sauce and hummous and babaganoush with chilli oil and chargilled flat bread for starters. Then for my main meal I ordered a Sri Lankan sweet potato and cashew nut curry served with yellow basmati rice with peas and tomatos sambal. For desert me and binia shared a strawberry and vanilla pavlova.

8pm We drank lovely white wine (Chardonnay Viognier) with our meal. My dad always picks the best wines whenever we go out for dinner.

10pm One last birthday drink at the train station before our train home.

WARNING: FOOD PORN POST!!!

Last week, me and my family went out for one last family hurrah as my brother has since moved to Brisbane and I will soon be in Mississippi, abandoning our parents. For this special night out we had drinks at The Mayfair Hotel bar, followed by dinner we went to Angela Hartnett's (off Great British Menu, I love that show!) restaurant Murano as it is vegetarian friendly.

Now I can honestly say if I could only eat once more before I died, I would drag my dying arse here. Not only was the food divine, (don't even start me on the cheese), but the service was amazing. Everyone there went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely experience, even writing on our desert plates 'Happy Aniversary' for my parents (it was their wedding aniversary), 'Good Luck' for my brother's impending move and 'Happy Birthday' for my impending birthday.

...and my de-freaking-licious selection of cheeses. Just in case you didn't already know this, I have been having a nineteen year love affair with cheese, and it is so not ending anytime soon.

For the occassion, I naturally could find nothing suitable to wear so simply had to go out and buy a new dress (any excuse eh?!) To my absolute delight I found the most gorgeous dress by Dress Up Topshop, with a heart cut out in the back and a sweetheart neckline in a dotty pattern! (my dream dress!!!)

I swear there is nothing I like to do more than eat out, even if it's just at grabbing a burger in Nando's.

best friend + beach holiday + rain = excessive amounts of gilmore girls and cheese!!!

This holiday was just fabulous, even though the weather was simply hideous with drizzly rain the whole time except for six glorious days of sunshine. Me and my bestie binia had a fabulous time painting our nails, and just generally being super duper girly. Of course our favourite bit of the holiday was the best holiday ever, BASTILLE DAY.

The fireworks on Bastille Day are the best and last for a full 30 mins, drawing hundreds of 'ooohs' and 'aaahs' from the many admirers huddled on the beach. It was a fabulous evening of finally being able to dress up, and drink ourselves into fits of giggles.

Our night was filled with sand, smiles and boys (all the best nights include this delicious ingredient). Suprisingly we managed to have a fun night in the worst nightclub dancing away to European pop, and by dancing I mean giving the girls on 'My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding' a run for their money.

Even more suprising was that we were able to get to the beach before 3pm! (a huge feat considering the amount of celebrating that went on)

In honour of our lovely last French hurrah before we both go off on our respective year abroads, I painted my nails as the French flag. I felt so patriotic, even if I only had them for a day (they simply didn't go with any of my outfits!)

Sadly we are now back in rainy old blight, and facing post-holiday reality. My own reality is that I leave for Mississippi in less than two weeks, scary scary thought!!!

In my makeup obsessive state, I have been unable to control my manic behaviour when I approach any store with makeup hidden within it. I have been unable to prevent myself from swatching lipsticks, eyeshadows, blushers, foundation (really anything vaguely makeup related) wherever I go.

I’ve always been more of a bronzer kind of girl. However, after having my makeup done at a Bobby Brown counter a few months ago I haven’t been able to stop myself craving a, deep breath, pink blush. I always felt rather silly looking at the pinky blushes, being sure it would look most ridiculous on me. I have become obsessed though, and my lovely new Bobby Brown blush in Peony is battling my beloved MAC sheertone shimmer blush in Peachtwist very hard for top billing.

I always find it hard to wear lipsticks with colour during the day in the summer, as I tend to go for a less makeup is more look in the summer (this look obviously being created with much makeup, obvs).
I have, however, been finally successful in my search for the perfect summer lips; my Revlon Matte lipstick in Pink Pout with my Jemma Kidd Hi-Shine Silk touch lipgloss in Coral. By itself I find Pink Pout perhaps a little chalky, but with a little bit of the Jemma Kidd lipgloss over it, it creates the perfect summery lips (well in my opinion at least!)

My favourite purchase, however, has to be my MAC paint pot in Bare Study which I have been coveting ever since I kept repeatedly hearing about it on all my favourite makeup youtube channels. It’s seriously keeping my eye makeup perfect, when normally it smears the second I leave the house (a very annoying occurrence). It’s a pretty champagne colour, so acts nicely as a highlighter on my brow bone as well. Plus they are supposed to last most people a year, so hopefully lots of use shall be had from it!

Do any of you lovelies ever have makeup attacks when you can’t seem to stop yourself buying more and more? (despite my bank balance being obscenely small I seem to always find some money somewhere to buy more!)

AVADA KEDRAVA!!!

I realise I am a few weeks late on this exciting event, but today I FINALLY get to see the last part of HP 7! After having been quarantined in France (otherwise known as a super girly holiday), I was completely unable to watch HP 7, without of course having to watch it dubbed into French. And whilst my French is enough to converse with my French family, I feared any jokes or subtle entendrez would be utterly lost on me. Therefore, me and binia have waited and waited, and today (the morning after we returned from said holiday), we are off to watch it!

I cannot contain my excitement at this exciting event. And yes I say event, because HP has such a BIG part of my heart. Whenever I am ill, sad or just stressed all I can bear to do is read HP, and if I am near a tv to watch the films at the same time. The characters of the story have become so well known to me that I cannot believe this film is the last part of the final book of my long time fictional friends.

In celebration of this momentous ending to a fabulous story, I painted my nails especially. They might not be the most complicated nails to do, but boy does that little HP make my heart flutter with excitement!

A little off the usual beaten track, but I thought I would share my lovely INGLOT purchases as I just love them!

Firstly is my INGLOT lipstick in 226, which I love as it’s such a natural colour but with a slight shimmery metallic finish to it, but whilst still remaining quite natural. I really dislike how they don’t name their lipsticks as I love having cute whimsically named lipsticks.

My other INGLOT purchase is a customized palette with five eyeshadows in it. This was not a completely spontaneous purchase, however, as I have wanted to buy myself a customized eyeshadow palette for some time now as I so rarely like all the colours in my palettes and it seems silly to be lugging around giant palettes when I only use 2 shades form it! So instead I have made myself a palette with dupes for my favourite shades, and I am thus far impressed with the pigmentation of INGLOT eyeshadows.

I played with my palette a little to create a purple smoky eye, and a brown smoky eye (which yes I did at the same time, so I had a great mismatched eye makeup thing going on, all the rage). For the purple smoky eye I used the glittery black, lilac and glittery purple (I’m afraid I have no idea what shades they are, as the palette unfortunately doesn’t say so, and I forgot to write them down).

For the brown smoky eye, I used my MAC eyeshadows Haux and Handwritten with the brown glittery INGLOT colour.

Whilst reading a Nigella cookbook, I stumbled upon the fabulous recipe for Naan bread pizza. Now being a lover of all weird combination foods, I simply had to try it out (afterall I can't stop eating her Marmite pasta). For this little experiment I took my own take on the ingredients, mainly because I had no time for a food shop but also to see what I could come up with. The results were delicious, and far better than a takeaway pizza!

For my pizza I used a garlic and coriander naan as a base, then spread chilli pesto across it, before adding chopped cherry tomatoes, grated cheese, chopped up veggie sausages, sundried tomatoes, homemade sweet chilli jam and even more cheese (a girl can never have too much cheese in her life).

I highly recommend making these, as whoever is eating with you can make their own to their individual taste and experiment as much as they wish!

I am just loving my little girly holiday away with binia, as it is just what I needed. A little one on one time with my fabulous best friend, sista and all around favourite person.

As we shall be separated from each other for a whole 11 months (my heart breaks just at the thought of being away from her for so long), I am enjoying every moment spent together. I even have to hide my laptop screen from her as I write this very sentence, now she gasps at the idea that I might have a secret she does not know. Oh silly binia, for the only secrets I don’t share with you are the extra special ones that are suprises intended for only you!

We are overdosing on Gilmore Girls (I own every episode on DVD), and thus our conversations are becoming quicker and quicker, as our words jumble up in our speed.

Occasionally we are venturing out to the bathe in the sun, as I determined to actually have a tan this summer! After trawling through last summer’s photos, I realised I was as pale as a ghost. People could practically stare through me I swear!So this summer I shall tan and tan (though obviously I shall also be wearing plenty of sun cream as I am a total safety first kinda gal)

Do any of you lovelies have long distance best friends? If so, any tips on how to not feel the gap so much?!

My beautiful best friend binia, is an absolute nail art genius and thankfully has far more steady hands than me! Thus I put her steady hands to use to leopard print my nails, and I can’t believe how fabulous they look!! I am unashamedly jealous of her steady creative hands, I might need to pack them away for my year abroad to keep my nails in tip top shape.

Whilst I can polka-dot my nails, I am less adept at the leopard print! (I’m a bundle of nervous energy these days, especially as my leaving date for Mississippi is creeping up on me!)

So I am of course still in the south of France, enjoying having a little relaxation time before getting back to the madness of preparing to study abroad for a year (how can I pack my entire wardrobe, shoes, makeup, books and electronics into just one suitcase?!)

However, that stressful period is not yet, though if any of you lovelies have some good packing tips I am all ears! (It certainly doesn’t help matters that I am a classic overpacker!)

Of course with all this relaxation, what is a girl to do but give herself countless manicures? My nails have never been so well cared for, though they keep breaking off anyway so are annoyingly short!

Anyway…I love this colour combination so much!! The Models Own polish in Champagne is so pretty, and makes such cute little dots. I feel so super duper girly with these nails, which I love as I rarely feel super girly.

They are the perfect celebration nails, so I’m determined to choose my birthday outfit around the colours of these nails! (I am to be 20 years old in just 24 days! I swear I only turned 18 the other day and now I’m almost 20 and moving half way across the world for a whole year away from my home comforts!)

I have been having a total love affair with rings recently. In the past 4 months I have bought 5 rings, which might not sound like a lot but that has doubled the amount of rings I previously owned. So I thought I would share with you lovelies the fruits of my jewellery shopping spree which also includes a necklace (does anyone else have a hard time at spelling jewellery?) I really enjoy wearing lots of rings and necklaces this summer, which is a nice change as I lost my love for accessorising and was just going very simple pre-Summer.

But as the sun shines I feel much more like I want to be all razzle-dazzled!

These two picked up whilst on holiday in Santorini and they feel so super summery and the pale lilac ring goes with practically every outfit I own.

This gorgeous pearl ring I picked up from New Look, and adore it! It's not particularly summery but couldn't help myself so will be saving this ring for the autumn/winter months.

Now this ring I picked up in Topshop recently and I simply adore it. The band is quite thin, and the rose just reminds me so much of the rose from Beauty and the Beast. It is I feel a serious favourite of the summer.

My lovely friend Lizzy saw this necklace whilst we were in Westfields.
This necklace is from Topshop and I just love the miniature handcuffs so much! I own very few short necklaces so will most definitely be wearing this a lot.

I was actually very impressed with Topshop's jewelery at the moment, and could have easily bought A LOT more, but thought I'd curb myself a little bit on the spending spree.

After my little trip to Newquay, I was feeling a bit of retail therapy so ventured far away to Westfields. And oh my, it is lovely there! If all shopping malls were like that I don't think I would ever leave. All the shops looked so lovely, and such a variety of shops too! But obviously being the food monster that I am, I could not help but fall in love with the food hall there! Which was especially needed after us four girls had shopped and shopped till we almost dropped. I bought some lovely things from the INGLOT shop there, but I wasn't going to blog about it unless anyone really wants to see my new makeup.

But what I really loved was SNOG. Now that word being used instead of 'kissed', makes my skin crawl. However the snog that I'm talking about is the delightful frozen yoghurt place. I have been having a love affair with frozen yoghurt, as it is a delightful treat that is far healthier than ice cream whilst still feeling adequately sinful.

My little snog (which was still rather too large for my liking) was a passionfruit frozen yoghurt with mini white chocolate stars and fresh raspberries. De-freaking-licious as my lovely ex-flatmate who joined us for the day would say.

After a week at home me and binia were sick of home life, so last weekend we went on a spontaneous weekend getaway to Newquay. To say we had a good weekend is an understatement (though I was NOT fond of the 7 hour drive there and back!). 'Twas exactly what we needed, a lot of carefree fun just the two of us.

What we didn't know was that there are like 8 guys to every girl in Newquay, so we were treated like queens. I swear me and binia are the worst at acting like students normally, so it was fun to go out and act like a student for once! Though we were very un-studenty in our eating habits, as it was fancy bistros for lunch and Pizza Express twice! I had the most delicious pizza ever!

I had the bestest time, and would LOVE to go back if I had the time this summer.

So I'm off on holiday (again, I know) with the beautiful binia, we are off to my flat in France for 3 weeks. It'll be fabulous to just get away from home and relax completely! For my holiday I decided to polka dot my nails using Gem Fatale's polka dot tutorial.

tasty tasty vegetable paella

Sick of ordering takeaway or eating just nut cutlets and homous (this genuinely is how lazy I am at cooking for myself), me and binia made the most delicious vegetable paella. It was super tasty and we, along with her mum and brother, ate the lot. I was so proud of us, as though binia is a complete domestic goddess, I am the undomestic goddess. I have only recently learnt how to make a good omelette, which are now my super duper tasty breakfasts. I thought I would share with you lovelies the recipe taken from my Cranks Fast Food cookbook.

Serves 4

Ingredients:
300g paella rice (or quick-cook brown rice/long grain rice)
1 tbsp tamari
4 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp paprika
2 tbsp ground cumin
5 garlic cloves, crushed
200ml hot vegetable stock
3 tbsp white wine
1/2 tsp tabasco sauce
125g carrots, peeled and sliced 1/2cm thick
125g courgettes, sliced 1/2cm thick
150g petit pois
1 corn on the cob, stripped (or just a handful of frozen sweetcorn)
2 small red peppers, deseeded and cut into 2x3cm pieces
6 sundried tomatoes in oil, drained
salt and pepper
1 tbsp chopped parsley

Method:
1. Place rice and 450ml of water in a large saucepan or, ideally, a pressure cooker. Add 1 tsp tamari to the water. Cover, bring to the boil, then reduce the heat, and cook for 15mins or until cooked. The rice should not be soggy as will soften when fryed with the vegetables.

2. Meanwhile, heat 3 tbsp of olive oil in a large wok. Add paprika and cumin, stir and fry for a minute. Then add the garlic, stir and fry for a minute. Now slowly add tablespoons of the hot stock as well as the wine, stirring between additions, until you have used about half the stock and the spices form a thin paste in the pan. Add the tabasco.

3. Add the carrots, stirring until coated in the sauce, then fry for a couple of minutes. Add the courgettes, stirring until coated. Add the petit pois, peppers and sweet corn. Saute for a few minute until the vegetables are tender but still firm. Remove from the heat.

4. When the rice is cooked, remove from the heat.

5. Place the vegetable pan over a low heat. Add the rice, stirring continuously. Add the remaining stock if it gets dry to keep it sticky. Then add the sun-dried tomatoes and stir for a minute or so.

6. Finally season and stir in the chopped parsley.

my summer goals

Every summer me and binia make our summer goals, and this year I thought I would share with you lovelies my goals for this summer.
Enjoy!

1. Workout
I enjoyed so much working out everyday doing the 30 day shred, (oh yes, I am claiming to enjoy working out!) I cannot wait to start these three dvds once things settle down this summer! It's not even about losing weight, it honestly does just make me feel better to have worked out. I always feel a lot less sluggish and more energetic and postive.

2. Get good skin

My skin recently has become far clearer, partly due to medication and partly due to the amazingness that is my Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser. This beauty has changed my life, (well my skin's life at least), as my skin is much clearer and looks less red and blotchy. Even some of my male friends commented on how great my skin is looking!

3. Get a tan!
I have, as I'm sure you've seen in the previous post, been on holiday to Greece already. However, the weather in England has been so glorious for the past few days that I'm hoping to keep my tan topped up until I go on holiday to France for 3 weeks with the gorgeous binia.
However, I am a firm believer in keeping safe in the sun and never use anything less than factor 30 as I'd rather be pale than ruin my skin!

4. Cook more
Whilst I do live away from home, I am back for the summer and would like to use all this free time to actually learn some good recipes and re-ignite my love of cooking. Unfortunately being a student, plus only cooking for one,has lead me to be less than excited about cooking.
Hence how I managed to eat solely pasta for almost a month, and I'm not even talking about fancy pasta. For a month I survived off plain pasta, pasta and marmite and stuffed pasta for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Needless to say I am so over that stage, and can't wait to try out all these dog-earred recipe pages that I've been salivating over!

5. Organise my wardrobe
As I leave for Mississippi in 7 weeks for 12 months, I desperately need to work out what clothes I'm bringing with me as unfortunately my entire wardrobe (which is much more than this photo btw) will not fit in my suitcase.
Therefore, I have decided to catalogue my wardrobe so I only bring the best of it, along with the perfect accessories and shoes that will be utilised the most so as to not waste space.

6. Grow hair and learn new styles
As some of you may have noticed, I am a big fan of changing my hairstyles and I most deffinitely go through hair fads. Like my victory roll fringe fad, or my mini beehive fad, or the current loose curl fad.
But I am desperately trying to grow my hair so I can finally be rid of the bleached and permed ends! So once it is chopped off I can learn several ways to style my hair so that hopefully I won't wear my hair the same way so much that I grow sick of it too quickly!

7. Work on little love
As uni caught up with me, I neglected this little blog, and you lovelies. This I plan on putting right this summer, so that my little blog is better than ever, and filled with stuff that I like to write about, and that hopefully you'll like to read about!

8. Make a year abroad blog
As previously mentioned, I am going away for a year to Mississippi and as such thought it might be useful to make a seperate blog for my friends and family about my time away so they can keep tabs. If anyone could suggest good names that vaguely link with little love, I'd appreciate it!

I got back from holiday on Tuesday and I so desperately wish I was still there. I went on holiday to Santorini, a greek island, and it was so relaxed and fun and full of australian backpackers, and no english yobs insight! (Magaluf/Zante style holidays are not my thing at all). It was the best holiday ever, filled with fresh fruit cocktails, free shots, cool pools and heavenly rays of sunshine, i.e. pure perfection. After all the stress of exams, it was so lovely to just chill by the pool then just dance away the night with awesome guys and girls. I thought I'd spare you all the 500 odd holiday snaps and just share a few of my favourites as well as what I wore on holiday!

I can't wait to catch up with all you lovelies blogs! Now just to start unpacking (yes I am that lazy that I have yet to start after 4 days of being at home!)

It's almost the end of my exam season of my second year at uni, and almost the end of my time in Leeds with all my friends before I leave for a year. This has caused a major mix of emotions within me, mainly excitement about next year, fear about being in a completely new place far far away, and sadness about being all my friends and family for 12months.

However, at this very moment I am so EXCITED to finally being finishing these exams!!!
Now if only I could concentrate for my last day of revision! (Typical though)

I have so much to share with you all lovelies once this is over, however, I only have 5 days before I go on holiday for two weeks so I'll see how much I can do in between packing and moving.

Oh & this is my lovely new ring from Primark, only £2!! I was very pleased as it'll be perfect for summer!!

I hope all you lovelies are excited that it's June, and thus the summer months have begun!!!

I think I'm going dotty

I think I honestly have been going mad. My exam on Thursday was so super hard that it is pretty much all I thought about! I stayed up all night on Wednesday night with the help of ProPlus, but threw up during the night and half-way through my exam! Luckily I think it went okay despite the sickyness.

But to give myself a well deserved treat after all that stress, I painted my nails (a definite treat these days). And of course my love affair with polka-dotted nails continues! This time I used Rimmel's Matte Finish Top Coat, and I just love it! I'm a big fan of shiny nails, but there is something so sleek about Matte nails!

Now it's back to the grind of revision, however, all I can think about now is how close I am to the end! Just another 6 days then I'm finished!
However, it's also just another 7 days then I leave Leeds for 12+ months (study abroad year) and will no longer be living with my friends. So despite the HUGE amount of revision I have left, I must also spend time with my lovely friends before I leave!
Oh & maybe I should start to pack as my room is bursting with stuff yet I only have a teeny weeny car!

My SD card broke and I use the same card for both my cameras so couldn't take any photos or anything to blog. I am going to try and blog a little more but I still have exams for another 2 weeks! (which is dragging on for so long!)
But I shall try and post when I feel I've achieved my daily quota of revision (this rarely happens as I am the Queen of Procrastination).

Anyway, I've always wanted to include music, but not have it in the background. So I thought I would try and do a weekly thing of sharing with you lovelies my favourite songs that are getting me through my week.

This one I simple love to bits, and it's so true! I need dollar!!

Ahem, so yeah, I have a smal confession to make...I'm a big geek. As in an avid Star Wars, Lost, Harry Potter, Heroes, The 4400, Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who fan. Pretty much present me with something vaguely sci-fi and I will become obsessed.

So when my friends were having an 'Idol' themed pub crawl, I knew that I had to be Queen Amidala in the Phantom Menace. I mean with makeup and poise like that, what little girl didn't idolise her?! Or was that really only me?

Unfortunately, whilst this costume was easy enough for me to think up, actually making it was a whole other problem. Not that a girl would ever give up her dream of dressing up as Queen Amidala, even after spending 5 hours making a headdress instead of revising/writing essays.

I was so proud of my costume, that I can't help but share it with you lovelies:

But now I better get back to my essays as I have been in this computer room in university since 6pm last night, so 13 hours and going....oh the life of a student, just thrilling!!

A while back I entered a competition overt at Temporary:Secretary, and to my absolute suprise I won!!! (I rarely ever win competitions) My prize was a beautiful a Flying Owl Necklace, which is the most perfect length for a long necklace, not to mention being adorably cute. I had actually been looking for a new long pendant necklace so this came at just the right time!

Unfortunately at the moment I'm spending most of my time in pjs and trackie bottoms revising (except for a fancy dress pub crawl, but more on that another time), but I shall be venturing out wearing real clothes tomorrow so will have an opportunity to wear this lovely necklace then!

I hope you lovely readers who are currently revising for exams etc are having more luck at concentrating! All I seem capable of doing is painting my nails and staring blankly at my notes!
Euh, I'm going to try for positive thinking!!

Before I left to return to univeristy, I went to a car boot sale with a couple of friends. Unfortunately I've never been very good at haggling, or at finding hidden treasures (most probably why Primark remains a mystery to me) I did, however, find a few little things that I fell for.

First though I wore my new top from River Island, though you can't see it very well in this picture, plus it has the cutest back so I will have to photograph it again. It was a very simple outfit for a quick shopping trip before I packed to head back up to Leeds.

Okay, so perhaps not deadly secrets, but they are seven little facts that you might not have known about me.

1) I can't ride a bike.

Up to the age of 10 I could, but then after that I sort of forgot and have never been able to learn or gain enough confidence. My brother spent countless hours every summer till I was 16 trying to teach me, but being 16 years old and still having training wheels was too much so I gave up.

However, I'm determined to learn this summer, especially as I'm moving to Mississippi for a year where apparently having a bike will essential to get around.

2) I'm half French.

My mother's French, and I've been going back and forth since I was 2 weeks old for every holiday possible. I love spending time in France as where our flat is I find it so peaceful, and it does wonders at calming me from stress. Being half-French has many benefits, being bilingual being the most prominent. However, it does have the downfall that anytime I hear a cute guy with a French accent I fall weak at my knees (pathetic I know, but I can't help myself)

3) I have a tattoo of a Lion's face.

I got it when I turned 18 as a gift from my beautiful best friend balbee over at minigirl does dream and her twin brother. The location of the tattoo is a bit of a party trick of mine, as it is located on my left bum cheek. I have yet to regret getting it, as it took me 4 years to be sure I wanted it (yes I've known I wanted a Lion tattoo since I was 14) and I also refuse to regret something that makes me so happy.

4) I have the most horrific laugh.

Like seriously awful, I cackle, man-laugh, histerically cry, silent laugh, snort...all combined together into a laugh that makes people's hair rise (and strangers to stare in fear).

5) I'm a vegetarian and have been for almost 6 years now.

Since turning vegetarian I'm more aware of what I put in my body, though admittedly I am still a junk food addict, I've learnt a lot more about food since. As a vegetarian I don't eat any meat or fish, or any sweets, biscuits, crisps, cheese or wines with animal gelatine/rennet etc in. I also don't use any products that test on animals, this includes cosmetics and cleaning products. Nor do I wear leather which is a pain sometimes when it comes to finding shoes, but it's worth it. When I became a vegetarian it was just a simple 'I don't want to eat meat' issue, however, in these 6 years I have grown stronger in my views on the importance of animal rights and it is now such a big part of who I am.

6) I hate eating raw fruit.

I know as a vegetarian it is beyond weird, but I truly can't bear it. The idea of eating a raw apple makes my skin crawl. Raw raspberries, strawberries, pineapples and grapes are acceptable. However, raw apples, bananas, oranges, blueberries etc are too wrong for words. I much prefer to have all my fruit cooked in crumbles, pies or poured onto greek yoghurt.

7) I can do 10 tequila shots in a row, but can barely manage two vodka shots.

Vodka for some reason is not my cup of tea, I'll drink it if need be but my true love is tequila. Shots of tequila are like treats for me, as just the idea of them make me happy. Unfortunately for the duration of my year long stay in Mississippi I will be only 20 (the drinking age being 21) so will be very much sober for the year and have to bid adieu to this lovely drink.

I have been loving this gorgeous sunny weather! I met up with some uni friends for a wee drunken picnic full of delicious food, and some cheap rose (I am a student afterall) But it was lovely to see them, as a month without the people you see everyday and rely on so much can be difficult. Only a week till I'm back in Leeds!

I also polkadotted my nails! I was inspired by my beautiful bestie balbee over at minigirl does dream, and thought I would give it a go. Unfortunately I do not have the steadiest of hands so my dots are not perfect, however, I absolutely love the effect.

So I'm definitely drowing in a sea of essays and revision that I have yet to do.
I honestly don't know what I do with my day, as all I day is sit at a desk and stare at my research, yet the essays don't get written. The exam revision has yet to even be contemplated though. What I'm trying to get to is that I won't be able to be the best blogger in the world in the next few weeks, I'll try and post a few little things but I won't have time to swoon over everyone's blogs. But bare with me as I will make time once I'm more on track with uni stuff.

Today's little post is about my lipstick collection has grown ridiculously large in the past year. However, these 5 lipsticks are absolute go-to lipsticks for everyday wear. I find they provide me with a range of colours to match my outfits. My favourites have to be the Revlon 006 Really Red, Revlon 045 Raspberry and Natural Collection Berry Sorbet.

I had the best day ever yesterday! Well in a long time compared to my usual routine now of a run in the morning followed by a whole day in trackie bottoms writing essays and slobing out. Yes my life is that cool.

I wore my new stripey dress with my new pretty shoes. So it was a day of new clothes being worn out for the first time, a scary thing to do when your not overly confident in an outfit.

As for the amazing day, I spent it out with my bestie balbee over at minigirl does dream, and a couple of other friends. We went to see Red Riding Hood, which I absolutely loved! The choice of hot guys in it was too good, though I do see the obvious similarities it has to Twilight as both are Catherine Hardwicke films. After that we went shopping and for lunch at Nando's, before returning home to jump around in the garden in the glorious sunshine.

I painted my nails with Models Own Nude Beige, which I am absolutely in love with! I just love how subtle the colour is. A new favourite I think.

Let me introduce you to my sunday Monday food binge: Marks and Spencer's Sicilian Lemon and Ricotta Cheesecake slice (there were two in the packet, but I'm trying to save the second for tomorrow! Fat chance of that, but a girl can dream about finally learning self-control)

Now I don't consider myself a cheesecake connoseur at all, but this little slice severely dissappointed me. I don't know whether it was due to my high expectations of all M&S food, but I found the base too soft and the cheesecake not light enough nor lemony enough for my liking.
How disasppointing I know, but it has made me determined to find the best lemon cheesecake on offer on the high street.

Any excuse to eat, eh?

Post-binge, I painted my nails as a little treat from essay writing. I used Sally Hansen Double Duty Strengthening Base and Top Coat, then Barry M 302 Fuschia, then Barry M 311 Nail Effects before sealing it all with Nails Inc Albert Bridge Topcoat. I love having barbie pink nails, but with the black nail effects over it I find the pink a little more fun.

Excuse my short stubby nails, due to being severely neglected they had started to break so I sadly had to cut them.

As a vegetarian who doesn't wear leather, I drool over my friends lovely shoes that I alas cannot wear. However, occasionally I'll find a beautiful pair of shoes that are just too cute and too perfect to deny myself.

I always wear out my little pumps, and the back of the shoes go, making them fit my feet even less and become too loose to wear comfortably. Therefore, when I saw these New Look beauties with their little ribbon ties I thought my prayers had been answered!
Plus the colour is just so perfect for the spring/summer.

The weather has been so glorious for the past few days that I have been loving going outside and enjoying it. My beautiful best friend balbee over at minigirl does dream has the cutest black lab puppy Lily who I've had the joy of taking for walks recently whilst I'm home.
Now I've never really been around pets growing up, but she is the most amazing puppy who makes everyone stare in awe at her beautiful shiny coat.

This weather has also been a great influence on my diet as I've been eating more salads and fruit recently. (Though I'm not going to lie I have been naughtily eating ice-cream too as I just can't help myself when it's nice weather!)

On Saturday me and my mother went to Bluewater for a spot of lunch and some shopping.
As for my purchases they were largely makeup and skincare products, and I will even devote an entire post to that later on. But for lunch, we chose to go to Leon which I'd never been to before but had always wanted to try out. And it was delicious. I realise now that the majority of this blog is just an ode to the ridiculous amounts of food that I eat, but it was so good.

I had a Roasted Sweet Potato Falafel hot box which was tasty as! Having never had the joy of biting into one of the beautiful falafels, to say I was won over is putting it lightly.
I shall definitely have to return and look into whether there is one in Leeds.

What with me and my brother both being at different universities, and having very busy (and very different) lives, my family is hardly ever altogether. However, on Friday all four of us were together for one night before my big brother jet setted off to Australia to be with his girlfriend (some people have all the luck). But what's even worse, is that the next time I see my big brother will be end of July for only a little while before he moves to Australia, potentially FOREVER. Well for a long time at least he won't be on the same continent as me!

So in celebration we went for a lovely Indian meal at our favourite Indian restaurant Tamasha.
Since it was such lovely weather I braved it, and for the first time since buying it, wore my maxi skirt out of the house! (I did wear it once before, but for fancy dress so that does not count)

Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick in Berry Sorbet.

I saw this as I was queueing in Boots the other week and was tempted over by the cheap price.
Obviously this lipstick costs a mere pittance, about approx. £2 (my memory is appalling), but I do love it.

The colour is perfect for day wear, but unfortunately the application is a little slippery and it has poor staying power.

I wear my Revlon 003 Mauve It Over lipstick underneath as it is matte and keeps the Natural Collection one in place nicely. I do have to reapply the lipstick more than I do with my matte Revlon lipsticks, but for so little money I am definitely happy with it.

After visiting Gourmet Burger Kitchen, I don't think I could ever go back to the likes of Burger King etc. The pure delicious heavenly bites of their vegeterian burgers in comparison to the rubbish vegetarian options of most fast food chains.

Luckily my lovely bestie Chloe also adores GBK and we sneaked off together for some burgers and wine before returning home for easter. It was a lovely evening of giggling and despairing over this term.

I had the delicious Aubergine and Goats Cheese burger again, but this time with no bun. Instead of a bun I had homeslaw and salad which were delicious. Oh & of course, a burger is nothing without some chips with smoked chilli mayo.

It's very rare that someone gets to live their fantasy for a night, but I did on Saturday.
I lived my perfect 1940's fantasy of men in uniform, girls all dressed up, cocktails in mugs, sirens and swing. It was my ultimate fantasy lived out in all it's glory.

I wore one of my new dresses that I picked up at Afleck's palace in Manchester, with some brown brogue heels and white lace gloves. I had been planning my outfit for weeks, and my excitement was undeniable and most probably got on all my flatmates nerves.

I would highly recommend trying to go to The Blitz Party if you are around London, as it was an amazing night of voyeurism. And let's be honest, we all need a bit of an escape now and then...

That was the catchphrase of the evening, as me and bestie Chloe were dressed as Abigail and Amelia Gabble (the geese from the Aristocats). It was a Disney-themed Otley run, and there were Jasmine's, Timon, Alladin and the genie....

And of course, it was tequila shots galore for me which left me rather worse for wear the next day. However, it was definitely worth it, by the end of the night I could waddle away.

For Christmas I was kindly given a Holgawood camera from my brother's lovely girlfriend. However, I have no idea how to use it or even what it does and my pathetic attempt at researching this has produced nothing. So on Friday night I attempted to use it to take photos of me and Chloe in our fancy dress costumes (of which I shall post more about later), but I think I just pressed and pulled on things without taking any photos. Hell, I'm wondering if it even needs batteries?!

I can't believe how gloriously sunny it was today!!

Me and my bestie went into town to do a little bit of shopping for our fancy dress costumes. We have a Disney themed pub crawl on Friday so are going as Amelia and Abigal Gabble from The Aristocats (the geese).
However, as per usual, once I start to shop there's no stopping me, so I bought a dress, and a maxi skirt and hello kitty pjs as well. Honestly, it's a good thing I've got a new job that I shall start at/after easter.

In rather english tradition I decided to dress as if it were summer, rather than March. I wore my beautiful new 1940's shirtwaister dress, with my hair all curly and pinned back after spending the night with it up in pincurls.

Now as some of you might know I mistakenly thought it would be a good idea to perm my hair, oh how silly of me, and since getting a trim my hair is too short to put up so I have been straightening it everyday. However, I think I might just have found a better alternative that is less damaging. All I did was pincurl my hair whilst it was wet, put a hairnet over it (a rather funny sight), then woke up the next morning with curly hair and pinned into place.

What do you lovelies think? Good hairstyle, or a miss?

Happy Red Nose Day!!!

For some reason we have all managed to forget to buy a red nose this year, so we're making do with Lizzy's red apple necklace!
I love Comic Relief as it's always a great night of laughs and charity, the best combination possible I think. For tonight's festivities, I made Oreo truffles following Danielle's recipe. Now I am not a baking queen, I get distracted so easily and tend to give up quickly but the recipe look's so easy that I thought I'd give it a go. And it was so easy!!! It took me quite seriously 20mins to make, and now they're just cooling before I feast myself on them!!!

Last night me and bestie Chloe decided to indulge our craving for pizza with a little girly trip to Pizza Express. It was so nice to go out just the two of us for a nice meal, as recently with our uni workloads increasing and other demands in life we havn't been able to spend a lot of time together (though we do have a two week holiday in santorini in the summer but that's not for ages).

Of course we took our little outing as an opportunity to change from our slobby home clothes (well mine, as everyone else in the world manages to look nice in them and I look like a hobo). I wore my Topshop high-wasited dogtooth tapered trousers, h&m print tank, m&s cardigan and asos black snakeskin heels.

But as for the food, well I salivate just looking at the photos. After spending a lovely 2 and a half hours indulging in pizza and wine, we returned home to series 3 of ab fab........the perfect evening.

I was rather indulgent yesterday, reading Company magazine, eating Ben&Jerry's (though I HATE the flavour) and watching the first two series of Ab Fab which I just adore!!!!!

I bought Company magazine last month and simply fell in love. Unlike other monthlies, there were no articles that bored me or clothing that I felt was unattainable for the every day girl. I am definitely buying this magazine every month, as I really do feel like I'm getting my money worth with every page. Plus Katy Perry was on the cover, and I adore her!!

Now to lock myself up and start these essays which are practically giving me nightmares and panic attacks at the thought. I am such a last minute person, even when I'm determined to be organised I manage to be late or behind with work.

After a completely jampacked few days of studying and gym time, I definitely needed to get out of Leeds. And that is exacly what we did (after only 3 hours sleep, waaaaaaa). Yet somehow I managed to stay awake for the whole day as we ate lunch at betty's and strolled aorund the shambles. Lunch at Betty's was delicious as always, I had a Warm Watercress and Gorgonzola Quiche with mixed leaves, carrot and coriander, cucumber and dill, and new potato and radish salads. Then of course I couldn't help but be tempted by the desert trolley and got a lovely lemon curd cake with raspberry sauce and berrys.

It was the perfect day away from Leeds with my two flatmates who I don't see enough due to our busy uni schedules and workloads. It's ridiculous how despite living with 6 people I barely see anyone. It was just lovely spending time with them considering I'll be abroad next year without the people I've come to rely on in my life.

After suffering a little from ennui, and just generally being a hermit (I might not have left the flat for a week) I finally ventured out into fresh air yesterday....and it was GOOD.

I finally made it into uni again and though yes I did fail to go in today due to my tiredness from last night, I still left the flat today!!
(yes I know it's odd to be celebrating such a small thing, but after seriously not leaving this small flat for a week, it is an achievement)

It has been ages since my last night out in Leeds, so we were all well in need of a girly night out of cocktails and dancing! I had so much fun, for once not worrying about work or holding back.
As I won't be here in Leeds next year (I might be going off to study on another continent, more of that at a later date) so I'm determined to make this last term with all my friends the best!! Unfortunately time has swept by very quickly, but I will make the most of this last month before exam stress begins.

p.s. I have FINALLY organised myself and have some more regular blogposts coming up. I just needed a bit of a push out of my sloth-like state

I had the best weekend in Manchester.
(I swear I will post during the week, but to be honest I don't actually do much these days except uni work/sleep).

I went to visit my brother and his girlfriend before she goes back to Australia this week, and I had the loveliest time hanging out with them both. I havn't got to spend a lot of time with my brother since he's come back from Japan as he's so busy with his last year stuff and we have our own seperate and busy lives so it was nice to see him.

Obviously it wouldn't be good weekend without shopping, so I did go a little mad.
(well actually very mad as I didn't even have £1.10 in my account or in change to get the train home from Leeds station so had to walk all the way!!)
I'll give you all a sneak peek at what I got in my next post!

As for the rest of my weekend away it was spent drinking excessive amounts (it was shots galore on friday night), eating chips, going to nando's and just generally lazing around the house.

Oh & of course on Saturday afternoon despite my giant hangover I drove us to the countryside for a little adventure. It's not easy walking up a steep country lane in heeled boots (needless to say, I was exactly dressed for the occasion).
But we did get there just as the sun was setting so I was able to capture some lovely views, a few of which I shall share.

All in all it was a wonderful weekend, and was not pleased to leave and return to Leeds.
I will, however, make sure I do go back and visit my brother again before he finishes this year and moves away to Australia.

my perfect weekend, well almost perfect

Eeek!! I had the most perfect weekend (well except the ending which is a whole other disastor that makes me furious to even think about). But yeah, back to the perfecr weekend.

On Friday night I got to see the lovely Lily (my bestie balbee's beautiful black lab puppy) and took her to puppy class where she behaved rather well though she had me running in circles after her at the end! I also got to see some lovely friends on Friday night for a quick catchup where I, of course, raided their fridge for food.

Saturday was the real perfect day though. To celebrate my dad's birthday this week we went to The Savoy for lunch. I had the loveliest cocktail, The Graydon Carter: red vermouth, Chartreuse, lemon, agave nectar and soda water. Simply delicious (and very strong).

For starters I had Provencal Vegetable Confetti with baby spinach and jerusalem artichoke puree. My mains was Baked Brie de meaux with creamed spinach, poached apple and preserved blackberries. Finally to satisy my every growing stomach I had Vanilla Creme Brulee with caramalised pineapples and pineapple sorbet for desert.

My brother and his lovely girlfriend who is sadly going back to Australia in just two weeks. Cutest couple.

Unfortunately silver service means that my wine glass was being filled up without me realising. So needless to say by the time we got home I was pretty gone, and needed a few hours lie down before seeing the boy who makes me smile too much from post-NYE.

Some egg fried rice, vodka lemonade and vegetable dumplings later, I was curled up watching Toy Story 3 and being cuddled by the sweetest guy. I won't go into details, but it was the loveliest date and he is, by far, the sweetest guy I have ever dated.

I was pretty reluctant to leave home. And that was without the crap I returned home to.
Now if only I could think of some excuse to return home more often...

I heart Valentines Day.

Now I know as a single pringle I should hate on the holiday for reminding me of my singledom, but truth is I LOVE IT.
Not only is it an excuse to spend ages getting ready for a night out, but it also meant that my best friend in the whole wide world (strangers often assume we're twins due to our apparent similarities) came to stay with me.
Everyone seems to have forgotten that valentines day is the day of LOVE, not the day for LOVERS.

If you are in a relationship, I am sure it was lovely spending the day with the one you love. But for me, I couldn't have had a better time going for a meal the day before with the girls, then for cocktails, then spending v-day in bed with my bestie eating praline chocolates, drinking rose, curling hair, playing with makeup and then watching 'he's just not that into you' (a favourite film of mine) before a night out dancing to great music. Unfortunately it was only 3 of us out due to tickets being sold out, but I love those two girls so 'twas awesome.

Plus I might have gotten a text from the boy who makes me smile.

It's official. I love Gourmet Burger Kitchen.

My friends from home have been up for the weekend and were in desperate need of some tasty food to replenish us after a night of dancing away. Unfortunately the initial service left a lot to be desired, though by the time we left, a different server was there and was much more friendly.

Food-wise, however, I couldn't have been happier. Annoyingly for vegetarians the burger choice tends to be limited to a non-descriptive 'veggie' burger or a bean burger. Though there were still only 4 choices for vegetarians, they actually sounded tasty.

I chose the Aubergine & Goat's Cheese burger with a side order of small chunky chips. The burger was HUGE, and so delicious with the varying flavours. It was without a doubt the best burger I have ever had (and the most expensive!!) Oh & I also had an Oreo milkshake, I just can't resist them!

It's a good thing I've been going to the gym, as I'm eating out so much this weekend!
Tomorrow I'm going for brunch with my friends before they leave, then to dinner with the girls for a pre-Valentines meal. And I'm going to Wagamama's on Tuesday.
I'm so food-obsessed!! (If only I were gym-obsessed...)

snip snip, bye bye bleach

After living my hair nightmare, I finally faced the hairdressers yesterday. As most of you know I used to have bright red hair, which I had to first bleach my hair and then put dye on for, then I dyed it brown last Feb.
Then on a silly whim, I got a perm in August, and from there my hairstory went down hill. Lesson to learn: DON'T GET A PERM.
They are, you know, permanent, and thus when you realise what a GIGANTIC mistake you've made there is nothing you can do about it but wait for it to grow out.

However, I finally went to the hairdressers and hid my face in shame as I told her what I've done to my hair. Luckily she was able to cut away most of the bleach, so now I only have 2cm left of it at my tips. She even taught me how to curl my hair with ghd's so that I could try and recreate the style she gave me.

So voila, my new hair! Now to see what styles I can make with it....

I promise I will get better at this regular blogging thing!

Monday night was my friend's night at Hifi so a few of us got dolled up to dance away. Unfortunately it wasn't my kind of music so the night ended in Mcdonalds around 1:30am eating mcflurrys (the lion bar one is really good!).

For the occassion I decided to curl my hair (& give myself a burn on my face in the process!!!), and victory roll my fringe. As of late, despite having a bulging wardrobe, clothes rack and chest of drawers, I have found my wardrobe relatively uninspiring so left it to my flatmate to pick out this outfit.

(Oh & don't worry, I'm not such a fatty fatty boom boom to have made angel delight as well when I got back, I just got very excited about it)
